Could you keep your app alive without the tool that built it?
A quick, honest self-check across the six day-2 skills. Score yourself, then follow the next step that fits.
Get started: Read the reading map
In plain English
Answer ten yes/no questions about your app. Your score points you to the right place to start. It measures readiness and awareness, not whether your app is actually secure.
When to use this
- Right after shipping, to see what to prioritize
- When you feel unsure but do not know where the gaps are
- Before you add payments, logins, or anything that touches personal data
Score yourself: 1 point for each "yes"
- I can explain, in plain words, what each main part of my app does.
- I know where my app's data actually lives.
- I have a backup of my app and its data that I have actually tested.
- If my AI or no-code tool disappeared tomorrow, I could keep the app running.
- I know which parts of my app touch payments or personal data.
- I can make a small change and safely undo it if it breaks something.
- I know how to read an error message well enough to search for help.
- I can export my data and, ideally, my code from the tools I use.
- I have a simple routine for updates and maintenance.
- I know when a problem is beyond me and it is time to hire a professional.
What your score means
0–3: Just getting oriented
Start by understanding what you built. Read-first literacy will make everything else easier.
4–7: Getting there
You have the basics. Shore up security and maintenance so a small problem does not become a big one.
8–10: In good shape
You are day-2 capable. Focus on truly owning your stack and extending it safely.
A high score is not a security certificate — This check measures awareness and habits, not the actual security of your app. Even a perfect score is directional. For real risk-spotting, use the detection-first security self-audit.

Readiness check FAQ
Does a high score mean my app is safe?
No. It means you are aware and have good habits. Security depends on the actual app; use the security self-audit and get professional review for payments, logins, and personal data.
How long does it take?
About two minutes. It is ten yes/no questions.
Do I need to be technical to answer?
No. If a question is unclear, that is a useful signal, and the linked hub will help you close that gap.
What if I score low?
That is completely normal for a freshly shipped app. Start with Understand and work through the path at your own pace.
Do you store my answers?
No. This is a self-scored check: you count your own yes answers, and nothing you tick is sent anywhere or stored.
