The error & fix library

A plain-English library of what common errors mean and how to respond safely, built for people who did not write the code.

Get started: New here? Start with Debug

In plain English

When your app throws an error, this library helps you understand what it means and what to try, safely. Browse by category and follow the guides.

Two rules before any fix — Back up your app and data first, and never paste secrets like API keys into a chatbot. If a fix could lose data or touches payments or logins, get a professional.

When to use the library

  • Your app shows an error message you do not understand
  • Something broke right after an AI edit
  • You want to know whether a fix is safe to try yourself

App will not load or deploy

Blank screens, failed deploys, and "site not found" style problems.

Errors after an AI edit

It worked, then the AI changed something and now it does not.

Use the safe-change workflow

Reading error messages

Make sense of the text on the screen and search it safely.

Learn to read errors

Common failures explained

A plain-English reference to the most frequent failure types.

Data & database issues

Where your data lives and what to check when it looks wrong.

Understand your data

Some errors point to real risks. Learn to spot them, detection-first.

Go to Secure

Use the failure type, not a guessed error-code match — Start with the category that describes what changed, then use the reading-errors guide to preserve the exact message and test one reversible step at a time.

Still stuck?

Work through the calm first response, then decide whether to fix it, direct the AI, or hire a professional.

Library FAQ

Do you have a page for my specific error code?

Not for every product-specific code. Start with the category that matches the failure and use the reading-errors guide to capture the exact message, context and first safe check.

Is it safe to try fixes myself?

Often, if you back up first and make small, reversible changes. We flag when a problem is high-stakes and you should get help instead.

Should I paste my error into an AI chatbot?

You can paste the error text, but never paste secrets like API keys, passwords, or private data. See "Never Paste Secrets Into a Chatbot."

How do I request a fix guide?

Use the contact page to report a gap, including the tool, exact error and what changed immediately beforehand. That evidence can improve the existing category guidance; it is not a promise of a product-specific page.
